As many of you know, the factory that produced Dymondwood burned down some years ago - never to be rebuilt. This new product - DymaLux - just might serve as a suitable replacement. We all know how customers at a show seem to gravitate to the multi-color, multi-layer wood handles. Knifemakers like them because they are relatively inexpensive and because the layers make it easy to to create good symmetry.
We now have a wide selection of colors in thicknesses from 1/8 to 1".
Customers have responded favorably to this product and are re-ordering as it gets posted. I do feel compelled to note that - much like dymondwood - this product is not perfectly uniform. Thicknesses can vary a bit. Colors can vary between dye lots. Veneers may have some cracks or voids (rarely). Panels are rarely as flat as other products you may have used like G10 or Micarta. These are not considered flaws or defective product. Just the nature of the beast.
